I put in my first 2012 sheet of dichro glass in the kiln this afternoon to make some new pendants, as my hubby and brother create the frame for my new studio space. 9' x 12' isn't too shabby, considering I've worked on the dining room table to cut my glass, small space in the corner garage for cold work, and the kiln in my bedroom to fire everything, now I will able to work in one space that's exclusively mine:) I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done!
I'm a quarter of the way through reading "An Artist Empowered" by Eden Maxwell, and I'm actually retaining what I'm reading. The difference between this book and any other book is that this is the first one I'm reading on my kindle, so I'm taking notes as I read because the book is not physically in my hand to flip through. I want to share a quote from the book each time I blog, here goes:
"Have a confident attitude toward rejection. To endure success you must first ride out rejection"

Creating in 2012
I'm so excited to have my new website on line tonight! Besides a new website, I started a blog, working on some new glass designs, and in the planning stage of creating my new studio space!!!!
I'm always open to learning new things so I booked a (one day) class every month through April .
My first class for 2012 was "torchwork for the fuser" with Sam Hibler at her studio Dream Fire Glass. I learned more than I expected and had fun in this one day class!
My next class will be in March with Morgan Graff. I'm really excited to be introduced to the world of glass blowing! Her artwork is amazing!
In April, I'll be taking a class "working with wire" with Liza Connell, I've been trying to take a class with her for the last 2 years!!!! Looking forward to it.
